Morning school closure due to adverse weather

21st January 2024

As you may be aware, we are expecting increasing adverse weather conditions this evening and tomorrow – with yellow and amber weather warnings issued for the Hampshire area.

Due to the risk to safety and the disruption to travel conditions this may cause we have made the decision to close our sites tomorrow (Monday 22nd January) morning to learners and students – opening again at 12pm.

We aim to provide lunch as usual at school when learners arrive.

We are currently discussing the situation with our taxi providers to see if collections can be accommodated for this time and learners that usually use the school mini-bus will be collected from 12pm. Further details will follow on Monday morning.

Should the situation worsen, and the weather warning change to red, and we have to shut the school for the day we will inform parents and carers after 10am tomorrow morning.  This will also be announced on our social media channels (facebook.com/inclusionhampshire) and website (www.inclusionschool.org.uk)

If you are currently in a red warning area (UK weather warnings – Met Office)  or live in an area where there are Hampshire school closures taking place (Emergency school closures, college and children’s centres closures in Hampshire | Hampshire County Council (hants.gov.uk)) and would prefer for your child not to attend tomorrow, then please contact us to report their absence either ringing the office on 01256 437 177 or emailing
absence@inclusionschool.org.uk

As always, please do get in touch if you have any concerns. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but was felt that the potential risk and anxiety it may cause was so great that this was the best action. We appreciate your support with this and will continue to update you as the situation progresses.
