Need some support?
This image illustrates the range of qualification pathways that we have at Inclusion School, these are designated as Vocational, I-Levels and GCSEs. Our expert teaching and well-being staff work closely with learners to determine the best possible outcome and measures of success for them. Please see below for further details on each of these areas.
Vocational Pathway
Our vocational courses are officially recognised by various exam boards and are supervised by our teaching staff.
These qualifications are offered at various levels and combine theory with hands on learning. They provide targeted skills and knowledge which supports personal growth, EHCP targets and academic outcomes.
After thorough checks, the exam boards review the work before final grades are given. This process ensures high quality and fairness and can be referred to as IQA (Internal Quality Assurance).
Benefits of our vocational pathway
Our vocational courses are effective because they are flexible and adaptable which allows us to create a unique curriculum for our learners.
As a result of this, learners can complete learning at their own pace and staff can moderate/mark completed learning. This is then sent to the Exam board.
They can also retake exams if needed, allowing our team to work at a pace that is suitable to learners at Inclusion School.
The following short courses that we offer can be found below.
ASDAN Short Course (Cooking/Art)
These are flexible courses that cover up to 60 hours of activities and skill development. There are no formal exams, preventing anxiety and stress. All courses include cross curricular links with Maths and English.

Prince’s Trust (Work Skills)

NOCN/ELC 1, 2 & 3 (Maths/English)
These are exams in Maths and English taken under strict conditions. The exams can happen at any time within the set Inclusion Assessment windows.
Entry Level Certification assessments are pre-GCSE and allow learning to progress at a pace that suits learners needs.

AQA Unit Accreditation (All Subjects)
This exam board allows Inclusion School to record achievements and boost confidence in a variety of subjects. It includes coursework that is reviewed and sent to the exam board for certification, once internal quality assurance has been undertaken within the school setting.
There are different levels (pre-entry, entry level and ELC 1,2,3) and there are no set times for completion, allowing learners to work at a pace that is suitable to their needs.

Step Up To English (SUTE)
This course is pre entry to GCSE and helps build literacy skills and is suitable for all ages at Inclusion School. They can be taught alongside GCSE English specifications. We offer different levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold, which align to ELC 1,2,3. These levels run parallel to the GCSE curriculum, allowing a smooth transition from SUTE to GCSE.

Inclusion Levels (I-Level)
Our Inclusion Levels are internally designed for our learners, covering key content from Key Stages 1, 2, and 3. These levels help fill any gaps in knowledge before moving to formal assessments. They range from levels 1-9 and once learners reach level 9, they start preparing for GCSEs in the programme of study that they are ready for. It is only when they are ready, that we offer GCSE as a pathway.
It is important to note these are not qualifications and should not be confused with GCSE grades 1-9.
For more info on Inclusion Levels, contact:
- Maths: Michelle Green
- English: Jasmine Latchman
- Science: Julia Bray
Benefits of our Inclusion Level Pathway (I-Level)
Our Inclusion Levels are evidence informed and link specifically to the national curriculum. This allows staff to find the gaps in learners knowledge allowing targeted support and intervention to occur where required.
GCSE Pathway
Learners can take GCSEs in Maths, Science, and English at Inclusion School. We are a JCQ accredited centre, which means we can offer GCSEs to all learners who are ready for this pathway. Before starting GCSEs, we make sure learners have completed Inclusion Levels 1-9 and can cope with formal mock examinations.
